I didn't watch tv, much, when I was a child. I never saw the news, or read the newspaper, or a magazine. I was very sheltered. One summer morning, my sister and her family were visiting from out of town. I had no idea there was a royal wedding going on, until my sister turned on the tv.

And there she was. Lady Diana Spencer. In that humungous wedding dress. About to marry the future king of England. She was the most adorable creature I had ever seen!

I was 12 years old.

For the next several years, I couldn't get enough of her. I read everything about her that I could get my hands on. Which lead to an interest in reading in general. History. Biographies. Current events. The whole world came alive to me, and it began with my love of Princess Diana.
